#12 A Weekend Well Spent.
A weekly recommendations newsletter featuring my London faves and some things I'm loving that week.
How is it still January? Asking for a friend (my bank account). As someone with a January birthday, I am not usually one to wish the month away, but my god, it’s been a long one. In
’s Saturday newsletter, Hunter proclaimed, It’s been ‘one whole month of feeling like you got up from your seat too early’, and I don’t think I’ve related to anything more. In good news, February is well and truly around the corner, Aquarius season has arrived, and London experienced a full day of winter sunshine on Saturday!A short and sweet weekend recap for you this week!
Eating
After an afternoon watching Arsenal at the Emirates, Josh and I grabbed a pizza at Oi Vita in Newington Green. It was fantastic. We both got the Napoletana, which is the perfect pizza order, IMO: tomato base, juicy mozz, black olives, capers, oregano, basil, and most importantly, anchovies. We shared a tiramisu for dessert that was heavy on the custard, but I wasn’t mad about it.
Drinking
We met some friends for a nightcap after dinner at High Water in Dalston. It’s a good spot for a night out; it’s dark, a little sweaty, and always busy. It’s not my favorite cocktail bar in London, but it does what it’s supposed to, you know?
Coffee
I reunited with two angels on earth, Chelsea and Stevie, for coffee at Bermondsey Corner to catch up on redundancy life and remember it’s good to laugh again. I’m joking (am I?). It’s a cafe, bottle shop, and wine bar next to the White Cube on Bermondsey Street. It’s a really sweet place in the day but I think it would also be cosy for an afternoon or pre-dinner wine.
Reading
It’s a good day when a newsletter from
lands in my inbox. If you are like me and nosy AF, Katie’s Into the Fridge series is like a delectable little snack, and the level of detail in her recent post, The Great Hand Cream Showdown, is exactly what I’m looking for from a product review.Making
Butternut squash pearl barley risotto. This is a delicious Mob classic and the perfect winter warmer from their Comfort cookbook.
That’s it for this week! x
So honored to be your pick this week. Thank you 🤍
